Installing Avid DNA Video Peripherals
To install hardware and software for a Pro Tools
system with an Avid DNA video peripheral, fol-
low these steps:
1 Uninstall any previous versions of
AVoptionDNA, Pro Tools, or other Avid applica-
tions: See “Uninstalling AVoptionDNA,
Pro Tools, Media Station|V10 and/or
Avid Xpress Pro” on page 11.
2 Turn off and disconnect any Avid DNA video
peripherals from your computer. (You do not
need to remove your Pro Tools hardware.)
3 Install Pro Tools hardware (if not installed al-
ready): See “Installing Pro Tools Hardware” on
page 13.
4 Install Media Station|PT software, if desired.
See “Installing Media Station|PT and Pro Tools
Software” on page 13.
5 Connect and power on the Avid DNA video
peripheral: See “Connecting Avid DNA Video
Peripheral Hardware” on page 14.
6 Install Pro Tools software: See “Installing Me-
dia Station|PT and Pro Tools Software” on
page 13.
7 Set up local storage (if necessary): See “Setting
Up Local Storage” on page 18.
Uninstalling AVoptionDNA,
Pro Tools, Media Station|V10
and/or Avid Xpress Pro
If you are upgrading your Pro Tools system with
an Avid DNA video peripheral, you must first
uninstall Pro Tools and specific Avid applica-
tions, based on your operating system.
Uninstalling on Windows XP
It is advised that you uninstall software from
Windows XP in the following order:
1 Uninstall the AVoptionDNA software.
2 Uninstall your previous version of Pro Tools.
3 Uninstall Media Station|V10 software.
To uninstall AVoptionDNA software:
1 Choose Start > Control Panel.
2 Launch Add or Remove Programs.
3 From the Currently Installed Programs list,
choose AVoptionDNA.
4 Click the Change/Remove button.
5 Follow the on-screen instructions to remove
AVoptionDNA software.
6 Restart your computer.
